Lung cancer is not always caused by smoking

The medical evidence is undeniable, Asbestos can cause many forms of lung cancer. Medical research has proven that if a person who was exposed to asbestos, also smokes, that person has a 50x greater chance of getting lung cancer. Even if a person was a heavy lung cancersmoker, if that person also was exposed to asbestos, they will probably have an asbestos claim.

Exposure to asbestos also has been directly linked to lung cancer and, in particular, mesothelioma, a serious form of lung cancer.  Even in smokers, lung cancer may be the result of asbestos exposure and not tobacco products like cigarettes.

For much of the 20th Century, asbestos was used in millions of workplaces and on job sites including:

–refineries

–steel mills

–paper mills

–Industrial plants and factories

–shipyards and on ships

–textile mills

–auto repair shops

–railroads

–construction

–plumbing
